Course Objectives
The EUSR Category 1 course teaches you how to safely locate and identify underground utilities, reducing risks to yourself, others, and infrastructure.

Entry Requirements
- Qualifications: No prior qualifications needed.
- Experience: Industry experience is helpful but not required.
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Language: Basic English skills to follow instructions, read utility plans, and understand safety guidelines.
- Fitness: A reasonable level of physical fitness is needed for practical tasks. A medical declaration may be requested if relevant.
- PPE: Bring your own PPE, including helmet, gloves, hi-vis clothing, and steel-toe boots.

- Written Test: Covers utility detection methods, safety procedures, and HSG47 guidelines.
- Practical Assessment: Demonstrate how to locate buried utilities using location equipment (Cat & Genny).
