We offer two NPORS Asbestos Awareness (N031) training options for businesses and individuals:
- Experienced (Refresher)
For experienced individuals, demonstrate your understanding and update your knowledge to earn NPORS certification. The refresher covers site safety, asbestos handling, and risk management, making it ideal for businesses certifying their workforce or individual candidates seeking professional recognition. - Novice Course
For beginners, this course provides training on asbestos awareness, safe handling procedures, and industry best practices, with NPORS certification upon completion.

Course Objectives
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry and the dangers of working in the industry
- Have a basic understanding of the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations
- Gain an overview of Health and Safety Requirements
- Properties of asbestos
- Identify risks involved and how to avoid them
- Discuss the control measures and emergency procedures
- Types of asbestos and its uses
- The health risks and related diseases
- P.P.E and R.P.E
Entry Requirements
- Previous Qualification: Candidates must have successfully completed the Asbestos Awareness course or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in handling asbestos and understanding its risks.
- Experience: No prior experience required, but a basic understanding of health and safety practices is beneficial.
- Age Requirement: All participants must be at least 16 years old.
- Language Proficiency: A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
The assessment for this course includes both theoretical and practical components:
- Theoretical Assessment: A written test covering key safety practices, asbestos awareness, and risk management.
- Experienced (Refresher): For experienced workers, the refresher focuses on validating your existing knowledge and experience in handling asbestos safely.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in asbestos awareness and handling.
