We offer two NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper (N204) training options for businesses and individuals:
Experienced Worker Test
For experienced individuals, demonstrate your skills and earn NPORS certification. The test covers site safety, dumper operation, and maintenance, making it ideal for businesses certifying their workforce or individual candidates seeking professional recognition.
Novice Course
For beginners, this course provides training on safe operation, machine care, and industry best practices, with NPORS certification upon completion.

Course Objectives
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for forward tipping dumper use
- Prepare the forward tipping dumper for use and operate safely and efficiently
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Attach and set trailers, ready for operation
- Environmental considerations
- Storage and transport of implements and attachments
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
- Previous Qualification: Candidates must have relevant experience or training in dumper operation or demonstrate equivalent knowledge in handling forward tipping dumpers.
- Experience: No prior experience required, though basic knowledge of machinery and site safety practices is beneficial.
- Age Requirement: All participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Language Proficiency: A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
The assessment for this course includes both theoretical and practical components:
- Theoretical Assessment: A written test covering key safety practices, dumper operation, and maintenance.
- Practical Assessment: A hands-on assessment where you demonstrate your ability to safely operate the forward tipping dumper and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Experienced Worker Test (Test Only): For experienced workers, the assessment focuses on validating your existing skills in operating the forward tipping dumper safely.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in forward tipping dumper operation.
Training Locations
We offer flexible training options to suit your convenience, available at our Milton Keynes center or nationwide at your site.
On-site Training: Training can be arranged nationwide at your location, provided it meets the necessary safety and test specifications. Enquire for further details.
Alternatively, you can attend training at our Milton Keynes center for a more centralised option.
