Multi-directional Lift Truck – N135
We offer two NPORS Multi-directional Lift Truck (N135) training options for businesses in construction, logistics, and utilities:
Experienced Worker Test
For experienced operators, this test allows your team to demonstrate their skills and earn NPORS certification, validating their expertise in multi-directional lift truck operation, site safety, and task handling.
Novice Course
For upskilling, this course provides essential training on safe operation and machine control. Upon completion, they’ll receive NPORS certification, ensuring safe and efficient operation within your business.

Course Objectives
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify driving, steering and braking controls in each travel mode and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Safely mount and dismount the machine
- Start and stop the engine and safely move the machine off and stop it safely in each travel mode
- Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely laden and unladen, in open and confined areas in each travel mode
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out lifting and load handling tasks using each travel mode as appropriate
- Carry out lifting and load handling tasks
- Lift and transfer loads accurately and safely at different locations
- Load and unload external transport safely
- Fit, adjust and or remove attachments
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements:
Previous Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant Multi-directional Lift Truck training or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in operating the machine.
Experience
A minimum of 3 months practical experience operating the multi-directional lift truck is recommended.
Age Requirement
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
Language Proficiency
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
Theoretical Assessment
A written test covering key safety practices, multi-directional lift truck operation, and maintenance.
Practical Assessment
A hands-on test where you demonstrate your ability to safely operate the multi-directional lift truck in various scenarios.
Experienced Worker Test (Test Only)
For experienced workers, the assessment focuses on validating your existing skills in multi-directional lift truck operation.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in multi-directional lift truck operation.
