Experienced Worker Test
For experienced workers, this test allows your team to demonstrate their skills and earn NPORS certification, validating their expertise in plant movement, non-operational duties, site safety, and task handling.
Novice Course
For upskilling, this course provides essential training on safe plant movement and non-operational duties. Upon completion, they’ll receive NPORS certification, ensuring safe and efficient practices within your business.

Course Objectives
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for plant mover use
- Prepare machinery for use and operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Environmental considerations
- Storage and transport of machinery attachments
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
Previous Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant Plant Mover – Non Operational Duties training or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in plant movement and non-operational tasks.
Experience
A minimum of 3 months practical experience in plant movement and non-operational duties is recommended.
Age Requirement
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
Language Proficiency
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
Theoretical Assessment
A written test covering key safety practices, plant movement, and non-operational duties.
Practical Assessment
A hands-on test where you demonstrate your ability to safely carry out plant movement and non-operational tasks in various scenarios.
Experienced Worker Test (Test Only)
For experienced workers, the assessment focuses on validating your existing skills in plant movement and non-operational duties.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in plant movement and non-operational duties.
