Reach Lift Truck – N003
We offer two NPORS Reach Lift Truck (N003) training options for businesses in construction, logistics, and utilities:
Experienced Worker Test
For experienced workers, this test allows your team to demonstrate their skills and earn NPORS certification, validating their expertise in reach lift truck operation, site safety, and task handling.
Novice Course
For upskilling, this course provides essential training on safe reach lift truck operation and control. Upon completion, they’ll receive NPORS certification, ensuring safe and efficient operation within your business.

Course Objectives
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
- Safely mount and dismount the machine
- Start and stop the machine and safely move the machine off and stop it safely
- Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely laden and unladen, in open and confined areas
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out lifting and load handling tasks
- Carry out lifting and load handling tasks
- Lift and transfer loads accurately and safely at different locations
- Load and unload external transport safely
- Fit, adjust and or remove attachments
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
Previous Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant Reach Lift Truck training or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in operating reach lift trucks.
Experience
A minimum of 3 months practical experience in operating a reach lift truck is recommended.
Age Requirement
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
Language Proficiency
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
Theoretical Assessment
A written test covering key safety practices, reach lift truck operation, and maintenance.
Practical Assessment
A hands-on test where you demonstrate your ability to safely operate the reach lift truck in various scenarios.
Experienced Worker Test (Test Only)
For experienced workers, the assessment focuses on validating your existing skills in reach lift truck operation.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in reach lift truck operation.
