Screener – N208
We offer two NPORS Screener – N208 training options:
Experienced Worker Test
For experienced workers, this test allows your team to demonstrate their skills and earn NPORS certification, validating their expertise in operating screeners, site safety, and task handling.
Novice Course
For upskilling, this course provides essential training on the safe operation and control of screeners. Upon completion, participants will receive NPORS certification, ensuring safe and efficient operations within your business.

Course Objectives
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate, identify and use the remote control
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate to the screener
- Safely mount and dismount the screener
- Start and stop the engine, belts, feeder, and screens safely
- Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Explain different types of screeners, their advantages and dis-advantages of using, how they segregate the desired material
- Communicate with loading operator establishing agreed signs, desired product size and production speed
- Carry out an emergency stop / safety precautions
- Carry out screening tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for screener transportation
- Environmental considerations
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
Previous Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant Scraper training or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in operating scrapers safely.
Experience
A minimum of 3 months practical experience in operating scrapers is recommended.
Age Requirement
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
Language Proficiency
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
Theoretical Assessment
A written test covering key safety practices, regulations, and techniques for operating screeners safely, including hazard identification and safe working practices.
Practical Assessment
A hands-on test where you demonstrate your ability to safely operate a screener and manage the equipment in various scenarios.
Experienced Worker Test (Test Only)
For experienced workers, the assessment focuses on validating your existing skills in screener operation and safety procedures.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in screener operation.
