EUSR Slide Rail Install Training
The EUSR Slide Rail Install Training course teaches safe installation, inspection, and removal of slide rail systems in excavations.
With both theory and practical training, you’ll learn how to use slide rail systems to prevent trench collapses. This course meets EUSR standards, giving you the skills and confidence to work safely in the field.

Course Objectives
By the end of the EUSR Slide Rail Install Training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles and safety standards for using slide rail systems in excavations.
- Safely install, inspect, and remove slide rail systems to prevent trench collapses.
- Identify and use the appropriate tools and equipment for slide rail installation.
- Follow correct procedures to ensure compliance with EUSR and industry safety guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safe working practices when working around excavation sites.
- Demonstrate competence in slide rail system installation through practical training exercises.
Entry Requirements
- Qualifications: No prior qualifications needed.
- Experience: Industry experience is helpful but not required.
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Language: Basic English skills to follow instructions, read utility plans, and understand safety guidelines.
- Fitness: A reasonable level of physical fitness is needed for practical tasks. A medical declaration may be requested if relevant.
- PPE: Bring your own PPE, including helmet, gloves, hi-vis clothing, and steel-toe boots.
The EUSR Slide Rail Install Training will be assessed through:
- Theory Test – A written assessment covering the key concepts, safety standards, and procedures related to slide rail systems.
- Practical Assessment – Hands-on evaluation of participants’ ability to install, inspect, and remove slide rail systems correctly and safely in a controlled environment.
- Competency Check – Observations and checks throughout the training to ensure participants demonstrate understanding and application of safety practices and installation techniques.
Successful completion of both the theory and practical assessments will result in an EUSR certification.
