Course Objectives
The EUSR Category 3, 4 & 5 Combined course provides comprehensive training on installing, inspecting, and removing timber, steel, and proprietary support systems for deep excavations. Participants will gain the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work safely and effectively with temporary support systems in the utility and energy sectors.

Entry Requirements
- Qualifications: No prior qualifications needed.
- Experience: Industry experience is helpful but not required.
- Age: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Language: Basic English skills to follow instructions, read utility plans, and understand safety guidelines.
- Fitness: A reasonable level of physical fitness is needed for practical tasks. A medical declaration may be requested if relevant.
- PPE: Bring your own PPE, including helmet, gloves, hi-vis clothing, and steel-toe boots.

The EUSR Category 3, 4 & 5 Combined course includes both theory and practical assessments to ensure you gain the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Theory: Multiple-choice questions covering the principles of installing, inspecting, and removing support systems, as well as safety standards.
- Practical: Hands-on assessments where you’ll demonstrate your ability to safely use timber, steel, and proprietary support systems in a live dig environment.
Successful completion of both parts ensures you meet EUSR standards and are fully equipped to work safely on excavation projects.
