Soil Stabiliser – N040
We offer two NPORS Soil Stabiliser – N040 training options:
Novice Course
For new operators, this course provides essential training on the safe operation and control of soil stabilisers. Upon completion, participants will receive NPORS certification, ensuring safe and efficient operations within your business.
Experienced Worker Test
For experienced operators, this test allows your team to demonstrate their skills and earn NPORS certification, validating their expertise in soil stabiliser operation, site safety, and task handling.

Course Objectives
- Have a basic understating of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer`s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their functions
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for machine use
- Conduct all pre-operational and running checks in accordance with the manufacture`s and legislative requirements
- Safely mount and dismount the machine
- Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out stabilisation tasks
- Carry out operational tasks to mix specified materials into the ground
- Configure the machine and connect to silo or tanker to receive a load of binding material
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Environmental considerations
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
Previous Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant Soil Stabiliser training or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in operating soil stabilisers safely.
Experience
A minimum of 3 months practical experience in operating soil stabilisers is recommended, though not essential. Onsite industry experience is also helpful in ensuring participants are familiar with the work environment and operational tasks.
Age Requirement
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
Language Proficiency
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
Theoretical Assessment
A written test covering key safety practices, regulations, and techniques for operating soil stabilisers safely, including hazard identification and safe working practices.
Practical Assessment
A hands-on test where you demonstrate your ability to safely operate a soil stabiliser and manage the equipment in various scenarios.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in soil stabiliser operation.
