Sideloader Lift Truck – N006
We offer two NPORS Sideloader Lift Truck – N006 training options:
Novice Course
For new operators, this course provides essential training on the safe operation and control of sideloader lift trucks. Upon completion, participants will receive NPORS certification, ensuring safe and efficient operations within your business.
Experienced Worker Test
For experienced operators, this test allows your team to demonstrate their skills and earn NPORS certification, validating their expertise in sideloader lift truck operation, site safety, and task handling.

Course Objectives
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
- Safely mount and dismount the machine
- Start and stop the engine and safely move the machine off and stop it safely
- Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely laden and unladen, in open and confined areas
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
- Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out lifting and load handling tasks
- Carry out lifting and load handling tasks
- Lift and transfer loads accurately and safely at different locations
- Load and unload external transport safely
- Fit, adjust and or remove attachments
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
Entry Requirements
Previous Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant Sideloader Lift Truck training or possess equivalent experience and knowledge in operating sideloader lift trucks safely.
Experience
A minimum of 3 months practical experience in operating sideloader lift trucks is recommended, though not essential. Onsite industry experience is also helpful in ensuring participants are familiar with the work environment and operational tasks.
Age Requirement
All participants must be at least 16 years old.
Language Proficiency
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required to ensure safety and successful participation in assessments.
Course assessment
Theoretical Assessment
A written test covering key safety practices, regulations, and techniques for operating sideloader lift trucks safely, including hazard identification and safe working practices.
Practical Assessment
A hands-on test where you demonstrate your ability to safely operate a sideloader lift truck and manage the equipment in various scenarios.
Upon successful completion, you will receive NPORS certification, validating your competency in sideloader lift truck operation.
