Construction Plant Competence Scheme

If you want to operate plant machinery in the construction sector, we can provide the training you need to obtain your CPCS skills card.

CPCS Card

The CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) provides skills cards for the plant sector of the construction and associated industries. The card enables individuals to prove they have the skills and expertise to carry out their job competently and it is accepted on all UK construction sites. It also assists contractors to meet all necessary health and safety obligations.

After achieving your CPCS theory and practical test, you will be issued with a Trained Operator (Red Card).

What’s the ‘Red’ Card?

To achieve the ‘red’ card, you will need to pass relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test and pass the practical, theory and technical test. This card lasts for two years and confirms a level of skills, experience, understanding and knowledge. Take out technical test amd keep it as practical and theory test.

Why do I need a card?

Both employers and clients like to see proof of your competence and skillset. Therefore, this card shows to them that you hold both the appropriate practical experience and knowledge and sometimes sites can even refuse to let you operate a plant if you do not hold these cards.
